Gustavo Assunção received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees  in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 2019 and 2024, repectively. Since then he has been a researcher with IS3L at the Institute of Systems and Robotics, Coimbra, Portugal, and is currently pursuing a PhD with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Coimbra, Portugal. As of 2020, his research has been selected for funding by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the aegis of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (MCTES) of the Government of Portugal. His research interests encompass deep learning, computational neuroscience, neurocognitive computing, and a bio-inspired mathematical foundation for artificial intelligence, to which he has been contributing since 2019.
